Sinking Trump Puts GOP House At Risk; Markets Aren't Worried, Yet

Donald Trump's latest campaign turmoil hasn't just hurt his own chances for election, but it also appears to be hurting Republican chances of retaining control of the House of Representatives and Senate.

The PredictIt market shows that the odds that Democrats will retake the House have jumped to 27%, up from 15% on Friday. Now the PredictIt market sees just a 39% chance the GOP will win at least 50 Senate seats and just 17% odds that they'll win 51 seats, enough to potentially block a tiebreaking vote by Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton's running mate.

Meanwhile, the latest prices show Trump's odds of winning the White House have slipped to 18%, down from 27% on Thursday, before news media unearthed a decade-old tape of the GOP standard-bearer speaking about women in a way that required warnings for adult content. Trump's odds briefly rose above 20% after Sunday night's debate in which he appeared to staunch some of the bleeding and quieted talk that he might drop out, leaving Mike Pence at the top of the ticket...

...A Democratic sweep is still a long shot, so markets won't react to a noticeable extent unless GOP prospects for holding the House continue to worsen. Yet Trump has unquestionably put Republican candidates in a bind: If they renounce support for him, they risk a backlash from Trump's die-hard supporters. Yet a continued embrace of Trump, even a halfhearted one, may risk the loss of support among moderates.

House Speaker Paul Ryan didn't go so far as to renounce his support for Trump on Monday but said he wouldn't campaign with him or defend him, focusing strictly on the battle for Congress. Trump was quick to lash out via Twitter...

Yeah, it's now clear, and Rush Limbaugh pointed out yesterday, that special interests and elites have more say in political decisions than do the American people. And in the end the elites and special interests have the only say. I know a lot of us here sorta kinda felt this was the case before, but I thought, and I'm sure others thought, that there was some balancing counterforces. But this election has made it all clear in 4D HD that's not the case and there is a shocking singularity of the establishment. And we've even seen the traitors clearly, from Fox News to the "conservative" NeverTrumpers.

So, at this point I no longer need the GOP. No need to keep putting on political theater. The fearless, brash billionaire stormed in, turned on the lights and exposed all the props. Shows over. La fin.

The Predictit mkts are being artificially pushed to favour clinton...just like the betting odds were in Brexit.

The mkts are just machines, so if one side has a huge amount of money on it, versus the other, the prices react accordingly.

In Brexit large single bets were put on Remain and huge numbers of small bets were put on Brexit, but not enough to balance the odds, so Remain stayed heavily in favour...just like Hellary is.

Paul Ryan wants to govern like a Democrat. The GOP wants to keep his as their leader. Very little difference.

“Trump is finished” type headlines and “Trump is over” as the introductory lead in to any article has now been established as the final propaganda strategy utilized by the MSM/Democrat party.

The Chamber of Commerce type republicans have more to lose than liberal democrats if Trump wins. The cheap labor express is the reason.

The stock market currently is a bubble thanks to the FED and their low/no interest rates.

That bubble will begin bursting in the next 90 days and it will be blamed on the winner of the election NO MATTER WHO IT IS.

The IBD article is only a rather clumsy attempt to demoralize Conservatives. Such blatant tactics should only inspire us to fight all the harder for the victory, now clearly within reach.

How Can Any American?

How can any American support anyone, running for President, who does not respect the stated purpose of the Constitution, she has repeatedly sworn to preserve? The Preamble to the Constitution states that purpose:

We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Our "posterity," of course, are our lineal descendants. A purpose that is 100% consistent with Donald Trump's call to put America First. It is 100% consistent with the Fifth Commandment, and traditional Western values, in general. Mrs. Clinton's call for open borders, and the failure to properly vet immigrants from lands with very different value systems, is 100% inconsistent with the Constitutional purpose.

How can any American refuse to vote for Donald Trump, who not only understands & accepts what the Constitution requires. He strenuously exposes Mrs. Clinton on issue after issue!

Trump is willing to risk a lifetime of success--his whole career & fortune--to take on a corrupt media, that tries in every unfair, intellectually dishonest, way to cover up Mrs. Clinton's crimes and repeated acts of betrayal, in order to stand for us, our Constitution and our clear interests, on a host of vital issues. Consider:

1. Trump supports and has been endorsed by the border guards. Mrs. Clinton has shown only disdain for those trying to keep America safe from a flood of unauthorized invaders.

2. Trump supports the rights of Americans to efficiently arm themselves, both for their own protection and for the protection of America! Mrs. Clinton has repeatedly sought means to disarm American families.

3. Trump has supported local Police in violent confrontations with neighborhood thugs; while Mrs. Clinton & Obama have allied themselves with virulently anti Police groups--some funded by George Soros--groups determined to deny their law abiding neighbors, the Police protection, necessary to make those neighborhoods safe.

4. Trump understands that making any neighborhood safe, is the key to increasing constructive activity in such neighborhood;--the key to people being able to start local businesses, with some hope of success; the key to better job opportunities, better credit ratings, etc. Mrs. Clinton has shown herself more intent on encouraging and supporting those Soros funded groups.

5. Donald Trump supports all forms of American energy production! He wants to let the coal miners get back to work; to take advantage of improved technology that allows a cleaner use of coal. Mrs. Clinton has insulted the coal miners, by refusing to help them get back to work, while she patronizes them; offering them a new dependence on even more Governmental meddling.

6. Returning to the Constitution--the solemn compact (or contract) that authorizes us to even have a Federal Government;--the charter, that once--when truly honored--made us the envy of the earth:

Donald Trump has pledged to appoint only those who honor the clear intent of that charter, to the Federal Judiciary. Mrs. Clinton has promised to only appoint Judges who agree with her ghoulish view of Feminist issues: such as the idea that it is O.K. for a woman--on mere whim--to have a healthy, already half born baby, killed in cold blood, in something euphemistically labeled a "partial birth abortion!"

7. Donald Trump, daily addresses great rallies, to discuss these and other vital issues; such as the damage to American workers & communities, resulting from trade deals, and immigration policies, that do not protect our rooted population. Mrs. Clinton has avoided in depth discussion of issues; preferring, instead, an incessant attack on Donald Trump's personality; his tone; his supporters;--in each case misrepresenting the same by a combination of lies, cherry picked but misleading data, gross exaggerations, and citations of spurious media smears, engineered by a slavish press, which covers up actual crimes, in a blind, but determined, support for the perpetrator.

Under such circumstances: How can any American vote for Mrs. Clinton? How can any American refuse to vote for Donald Trump?

Note further: There are thousands of organizations, some Faith based (both evangelical & social); some secular, but ideological; some based on Humanist arrogance (Return To Babel). Among them there is something to represent just about any imagined human interest. Our written Constitution is the sole organizational effort focused solely on the interests of the rooted American. How dare any American betray or trivialize our organization; the Constitutional Republic, as it was intended by the Fathers, who won it for their posterity?! How can any American refuse to vote for Donald Trump?

The Ministry of Propaganda is going all out to finish off Trump.
They are being assisted by the RINO’s who are really the ones in trouble.
The citizens have seen through their charade.

I agree and I wonder why the moderators aren't being more proactive in preventing this self defeating crap from being featured....

months ago, it was decided that this site supported Trump and that was it...no Trump bashing would be allowed...

so why is this negative stuff being allowed...many times daily...

I have voted the straight ticket for decades. The republican party no longer represents me, and I believe they sold us out. The leadership refuses to support the nominee in spite of record numbers for Trump.

Not voting will not “feel good to me” it will make me feel sick at heart. However I will not vote for Rinos and I will not vote for anyone who did not support the nominee.

If Trump loses, I believe the Republican party is finished.
