Loudon and Fairfax counties are the blue sections, everywhere else except maybe the Virginia Beach area is solid Republican. The issue there is those two counties are are HUGE and completely over populated and over developed. My BiL and SiL live there, I don’t know how they deal with it. MS-13 is in those areas as well. A kid was killed by them in the neighborhood they used to live in.
I think it was a pretty smart possum ploy by Trump considering the last 2 statewide R’s outperformed their polling deficits by up to 10 points (albeit in losing efforts). Let the media do the work for you gleefully getting out the word that VA is over so that low propensity D’s stay home.
