CNN President Jeff Zucker on Friday said it was a "mistake" to air so many Trump rallies "and let them run" in 2015, giving the candidate an unfettered platform to call Mexicans rapists, support bans on Muslims from entering the US, and overall grow his base, which includes white nationalists.
"If we made any mistake last year, it's that we probably did put on too many of his campaign rallies in those early months and let them run," Zucker said at a talk at the Harvard Kennedy School. "Listen, because you never knew what he would say, there was an attraction to put those on air."

I occasionally make the mistake of switching channels to the Clinton News Network.
But CNN doesn’t regret kissing Hillary’s ass 24/7 and not having ONE negative story about her..not reporting on Wikileaks, or the Clinton Foundation, or ANYTHING that might hurt Saint Hillary..and if CNN really loves Muslim refugees so much, let them move into THEIR rich neighborhoods, Id love to see Brooke Baldwins reaction if she had to live next door to one
They could have done the same thing for hillary - just broadcast all of her huge, enthused rally crowds hanging on her every word. Oh, wait..... :=)

No, its not about the ratings, its about the politics.
CNN loses money without periodic subsidies from its sponsors and corporate backers. Its real business is propaganda.
Viewership is either locked in or largely irrelevant.
It doesnt matter if the public dislikes them as long as their sponsors do - including both those who advertise and those who don’t.
And there it is in a f***ing nutshell. These arrogant bastards think they have a right to be the "speech police."
That they have the right to determine what the nation should discuss and what should be everyone's opinion on the topics they choose.
Our first amendment is defunct. One side of the political spectrum controls all access to the public. Our side cannot be heard without "permission" from our political enemies.
I say again, the existing one party monopoly on media needs to be smashed with a nuclear sledgehammer until they no longer have the ability to censor speech with which they disagree.
