Since I moved to the south and met rednecks, the highest compliment I can get is being called a redneck. The country would be fine if everyone was a hard-working, self-sufficient person who cared about their family, neighbors, and community (i.e. redneck)
On a related point, if I want to see racism I need to go downtown or to the suburbs with lots of educated Ds, not a rural town with lots of rednecks with many political views.
Read a great article pointing out that it’s the Red states that have elected female and ‘nonwhite’ governors, not the Blue states.
