Sorry. I was there for almost a week as a tourist back around Labor Day. If anything, the city was cleaner than I remember from my only other visit back in the 70s.

I'm sure the pictures are real, but they are no more representative of central Paris than South Bronx pictures would be of New York City.

You've got to be kidding!

I was there on business in the 80's and it was gorgeous.

I took my wife back two years ago and it looked like a third world city by comparison.

Trash, bare dirt where grass had grown around the Eiffel Tower, African/Muslim street vendors everywhere, crime rampant - disgusting.

The more rural parts were nice but Marseilles was scary even in the day time.

No offense but my impression differed from yours.
