I take no joy in this. Glenn has personal problems IMO.
He wasn’t a good choice for developing an organization around.
He needs help. I hope he gets it.
Too bad they can’t bring someone else in a get the thing back on track.
We can always use decent Conservative sites.
At one time, I liked some of the things Glenn as doing. I realized right off I’d have to be selective with him though.
I liked him up until he got his TV gig. A lot of us here got a kick out of the way he went after “Spooky Dude” Soros
But he got a bit full of himself trying to be a pioneer in his type of broadcasting and drove himself over the edge.
His behavior in the past year has driven a good chunk of his remaining audience away.
First thing this morning, I accidentally hit the wrong radio button and there he was, repeating the NYTs accusations as true as if they were printed in Goldline gold on his favorite magic underpants.
He had a good manager, Chris Balf, but ran him off. Chris is now suing him.
Beck can rot in hell.
I agree. Glenn is a good front man when he is properly focused. He is a good storyteller. I think perhaps he took the good fortune he had at Fox-—basically capturing lightning in a bottle with the Tea Party movement, milking it through the key 5:00 pm dinner hour time, and applying a different (often bold) approach to tying the lib organizations together.
But probably he wasn’t the businessman he thought he was. When he began to create his own “network,” I thought, “Uh oh.” I was reminded how Henry Kaiser, one of the greatest businessmen in America, went broke when he tried to break into the auto business because he was undercapitalized and couldn’t ride out the bad years. With Glenn, he spent money like crazy, but not on the right things. He had a massive beautiful studio, but nothing to film there. He didn’t understand CONTENT was the key and didn’t offer viewers anything special.
Ditto that. The Irony IMHO? Like Trump, he hired the best (except for his parrots in the booth with him, good G-D they have gotten annoying over the years) but like you said the organization and or his micro management did him in. That was 2 hires away from success, an organization manager and general manager to run the place and let Glenn be the creative Glenn.
I had a team leader who use to say to me "taildragger, take the ball and run, run, run!" My guess is Glenn was trying to tell everyone where and how to run and changing that game plan on the fly....
