Sites of LGBT history move toward national landmark status
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | October 13, 2016 | Spud Hilton

It’s difficult to picture a National Park Service ranger, in olive drab uniform and a campaign “Smokey Bear” hat, standing guard in front of a tapas restaurant on San Francisco’s Montgomery Street.

But national parks aren’t just about forests and landscapes anymore.

The restaurant is the former site of the Black Cat Cafe, which according to local experts is among the most historically important LGBT sites in San Francisco. And if the naming of New York’s Stonewall Inn as a national monument back in June is any indication, more sites significant in gay history may soon find their place alongside Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Lincoln Memorial.

Not to worry. Islam will take care of those sites.

Thanks to our clueless liberals.

Not long ago I stumbled upon the site where George Washington took his first Oath of Office in NYC.I was surprised and thrilled by my accidental discovery.Standing right there was a Parks Service person with the Smokey Bear (or Drill Instructor) hat.The thought of seeing a person wearing the same uniform at the place where the first case of rectal syphilis was transmitted...sorry,I can't go on! Don't wanna be banned for foul language.

Now we know when they have movies where someone from long ago comes back from the0 future they are silent and forever altered. Can you imagine if we came from 1950 or earlier like 1925 and had three days reading the news and watching tv in present day, how incredible mind blowing it would be. What would you do? Shocking to stay the least and getting much, MUCH worst (if that is possible) by the week.

"The restaurant is the former site of the Black Cat Cafe"

If the gay "community" doesn't even have enough concern to conserve their own significant sites, then why should we taxpayers?

The S&M bars where patrons urinated on one another are now “fine dining” restaurants in NYC.

Theirs is a REPULSIVE culture.

I know Gacy’s house was demolished. Dahmer lived in an apartment building I think, don’t know about that.
