Tree, rope. Some assembly required.

We would not have gone to the Eiffel Tower except we took a boat. Then we had to run a gauntlet from the riverside to the secured area. Going home we had to wait for a taxi and it was pretty scary. I predict that within the next five years there will only be tour buses which drive directly into the secure area. Sad.

Eventually the Germans may discover that there is an upside to having large areas where the government is afraid to interfere. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge...

If the police and government officials won't protect the citizenry, then they are not needed or, worse, are working for the enemy. The citizenry need to start visiting the police when they go home and educating them on where their loyalties need to lie.

The run up to the Europe wide Bastille day continues.
A parallel aftermath will follow.

So lemme get this straight...the muslims attack and seriously injure police, and the police chief wants the unarmed citizenry to go into those same areas? And why did not the Polizei open fire when attacked? Friggin’ pussified modern Germans! Need a division of old-school Kraut Waffen SS to deal with the scumuslims. The muzscum bastards wouldn’t know what hit them.

And the officers didn’t open fire on people who attacked them with deadly weapons.

The old lesson. Where a citizen cedes a monopoly on violence - including self-defense - to the State in order to create a "peaceful" society, he trusts the State to employ it in his protection. This may be withheld if the State has priorities other than the protection of the citizen. "Social justice" is one of those priorities, but it can be anything - once in Germany it was racial purification.

When that protection is withheld the citizen is helpless. The right of self-defense must never be ceded to the State.

And then they'll be shocked at the rise of vigilantes, extremist political parties and the introduction of WW3 which looks so much like WW2. Idiots.

“. Then we had to run a gauntlet from the riverside to the secured area.

When was this?

Very frightening.

FWIW, we were there 2-1/2 years ago during the French Open, and it was fine. Our hotel was maybe 300-400m from the Eiffel Tower, and were were out and about the central tourist area every day for 4-5 days.

The City’s Lord Mayor Thomas Kufen also knocked down the claims of his constituents, saying “Altenessen is not a no-go area, the people here are just angry”.

So is this Lord Mayor elected, appointed or hereditary?

If he is elected he should be replaced in the next election.

If he is appointed there should be an immediate campaign initiated to have him removed and replaced.

If he is a hereditary I guess that his line should end with him at the earliest opportunity.
