Because many of them always have been.
Conservatism just gives them the sense that they are hard-core and tough compared to the average leftist thanks to years of AM talk radio pepping them up into thinking that they are warriors.
I’ve seen far more tougher leftists than some of the people around here.
Liberals want to win.
Conservatives want to be right.
But if you don’t win, it means jack squat.
I don’t think that conservatives are necessarily sniveling cowards. I know I feel so depressed each presidential election seeing our candidates beaten by candidates who would have never seen the light of day in days gone by. I am so glad I’m in my upper 60s and won’t have to suffer every 4 years much longer. I am putting a lot of hope in Trump, but I can’t even listen to Rush any more. I’ve turned off all news channels, cancelled news pages on my Facebook, and will probably stop reading Free Republic in a couple of weeks. I’m taking anti-anxiety medication and don’t look forward to election day. This is how it was back in 2012. I wouldn’t call it cowardice. I would call it realistic fear. My husband says that there’s no point in worrying about things I have no control over, but if I had control over them, I wouldn’t be so fearful. I’ll admit it. I’m not tough. Just worried about the future of my country for my kids and grandkids.
