A new study on the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, produced by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University shows that the health care law penalizes Americans who work full-time, will reduce the number of full-time workers, and rewards those who work less.
The ACAs employment taxes create strong incentives to work less, the study, The Affordable Care Act and the New Economics of Part-Time Work, states. The health subsidies structure will put millions in a position in which working part-time (29 hours or fewer, as defined by the ACA) will yield more disposable income than working their normal full-time schedule.
The studys introduction states: Starting this year, the United States working population will face three major employment disincentives resulting from the very benefits the Affordable Care Act (ACA) provides: (1) an explicit tax on full-time work, (2) an implicit tax on full-time work for those who are ineligible for the ACAs health insurance subsidies, and (3) an implicit tax that links the amount of available subsidies to workers incomes.

And what did this STUDY cost?
You work less, you get less money. People need money.
Nothing about Obamacare will ever work.
Our healthcare system is a mess.
Obamacare is a mess, but so is the rest of America’s overpriced healthcare.
We don’t have any better ideas. Until we do, all this is, is partisan whining.
We have plenty of better ideas, but the Uniparty gets in the way of all of them.
That was part of the purpose of Obamacare. It’s a wealth transfer from those who work to those who take, part of their class envy war. It’s also yet another way for the governing class to control whether decent people live or die. Once they get single payer, they can deny us lifesaving procedures, and that is the second goal.
Repeal and dont replace.
Open insurance markets across state lines.
Competition works increase efficiency and lower prices.
Well we haven’t done anything.
Zero.
“We” as in . . . ?
Basically I’m talking about Republicans.
We have done jack, to fax things.
Sorry this phone changes words sometimes.
Both parties are enabling this super expensive mess.
It’s ALL part of the plan to weaken America and neuter Americans,
The Supreme Court correctly identified it as a new tax.
I’m glad to see so many more people (outside of the traditional angry white men) are realizing they’ll be worked like beasts of burden until they drop dead; I work with plenty of older people who can’t afford to retire, as well as younger people with no hope of ever having a family, house, or even a car.
The Democrat Party is re aligning to create permanent Ruling Elite class kept in power by an underclass of public dole voters totally dependent upon government welfare for their daily existence.
These underclass voters must make up at least 50 percent of the population to maintain electoral majority so the Ruling Elites must figure out how force the remaining productive minority to work their asses off to support them.
Ultimately, to make the system work, the underclass must be granted priority and preferential treatment to the producers of working class and the working class coerced to produce which is only fair given the working classes history of oppression of the underclass and exploitation of their "White Privilege"
Sound familiar?
It's where we are headed
This re alignment also explains the Republican politicians sudden turnaround in their attitude towards their traditional base as the party of the producers.
Republicans see where the money and power is at and they are shifting their focus to power sharing with the Democrat Ruling Elite to become the Republican wing of the Ruling Elite.
Both American political are abandoning and betraying their traditional base of producers primarily working middle class and business man voters class to form a permanent voting majority consisting of a loyal and dependent welfare underclass
Democrat economic policies across the board disincentivize work.
Obamacare is just another example of that, on steroids.
The result is reduction in GDP, and overall weakening of the country.
The goal is economic collapse.
Cloward-Piven plan, proceeding on schedule.
Well, yes, of course it does - but communists do not regard "from each according to his ability" as punishment.
They know what comes next, but they don't care, since they think it's after they are gone. "Après moi le déluge." They are okay with disaster for our children, as long as they get to enjoy their cake now. Liberals and those who surrender to them disgust me. I know that's a history mishmash, with Persia, Rome, and the French Revolution, but it's all the same dynamic, and I'm afraid not enough of us have the backbone to stop it.
Where is Leonidas when we need him?
I found out that the best solution was to cap my taxable income and abandon health insurance. It’s saved me ~$45,000 after tax dollars since Jan 1, 2014.
I use the 8% exemption so no penalty.
You work less, you get less money. People need money.
