“Didnt read the article, but my take on this is that they meant she didn’t like the PHRASE, “everyday americans”. That’s what I took it to mean in context.”

Said not one word about a phrase, but did say Americans. Doesn’t a high powered highly paid executive in government know how to write clearly?

I can tell you with confidence that a lot of them write like children.

I’m not trying to defend ANYBODY. It’s just that when I first saw the phrase and saw the context surrounding it, it was pretty obvious to me that that they were talking about the PHRASE, “everyday Americans” and not everyday americans.
