The house is almost certainly going to stay under Republican control this cycle. Being an insider and knowing all that Trump was up against Ryan bet all of his marbles on the Democrats. If Hillary wins Ryan will most likely remain speaker. If Trump wins he will be asked to step down. If Ryan refuses to step down, he will be forced to step down. If Trump wins Ryan will be on the streets working as a lobbyist the next time around.
I just don’t think Speaker Ryan and President Trump can work together, period.
We are seeing right now a preview of the Speaker Ryan and POTUS Trump relationship. It will be one FU after another from Ryan to POTUS Trump. He’s safe and backed up by the media. He won’t willing give an inch to Trump, IMO. Ryan will fight for K Street to the end.
The only way his career can progress is to drop the mask and switch parties. However he is handsomely rewarded by having the Dems remain in control after we gave the R’s the House.
Paul Ryan is a progressive corportist. Really doesn’t matter if he has a D or R after his name.
Think about it the RATS would rather have ‘our’ guy in Congress and we’d rather have the RAT guy there. Vote properly, WI !
Maybe but the other GOP house members might see it differently. If Trump wins and say wins big, these members might conclude its politically wiser to “go with the flow” and find a new speaker. Ryan can keep his “safe seat” and go be Chairman of the House Cheese Committee.
The tape didn’t move any actual votes. The never Trump tantrum green lighted some Republicans to get back on the sidelines and not support Trump. Trump can and will get them back.
So we know where to FED-EX their guillotines?

Ryan’s plan didn’t quite work out the way he thought. Ryan thought the sound byte and orchestrated media attack, coupled with the pre-arranged GOP defections, would cause Trump to go completely defensive and lose the debate last night. From then on, there would be a cascading effect of defeat, retreat and collapsing polls. It would have happened to any other GOP-e candidate.
But Trump came out swinging, won the debate handily, and the reaction in the polls has not been what they expected. Now he has to start hedging his bets, and he looks like the corrupt two-faced traitor politician he is.
Ryan is a pussy.
Yeah he is worried that Hillary would get a Blank Check with a democrat Congress ... unlike this current Congress that is really holding obammys feet to the fire /s

Ryan and the rest of the GOP don’t care if we like them. They’re getting filthy rich and Main Street can die in a fire. They wouldn’t give us water if we were on fire.
