WASHINGTON (AP) It's just a trickle now, but some Republicans are urging people to back GOP congressional candidates because they'd constrain Hillary Clinton's agenda should she be elected president this November.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., facing a competitive re-election fight, unveiled a video this week promising to "act as a check, not a rubber stamp," if Clinton wins the White House.
In fundraising emails in recent weeks, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., GOP operative Karl Rove and a Colorado lawmaker battling for his seat made similar appeals.

"America cannot afford an unchecked Hillary Clinton presidency," Karl Rove wrote. "If she wins, we will need a strong Republican House to defend against her radical liberal agenda."

Republican consultant Josh Holmes, former chief of staff to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said asking voters to use a GOP Congress to restrain Clinton is a smart, essential tactic. "It's particularly effective this cycle because of the intense distrust of Hillary Clinton," said Holmes.

Ryan added that if Hillary Clinton wins the White House, a Republican Congress is needed to be a check on her.

Hello, you jerks did nothing the last two years. All you did was kowtow to Obama/Hillary.
What the hell is the difference between you and the Dems? NADA! ZERO! NOTHING!
Because they’ve done such a great job over the last six years...
Exactly!
I always thought of “block” as being synonymous with “deter,’ “prevent,” or “stop.” The new PC definition seems to be “enhance” or “enable.”
Sounds to me like the rinos are not sure they can keep control of congress.
And this old crap of “Elect us and we’ll do better next time” ain’t gonna’ work this time.
Fool me once: shame on you.
Fool me twice: shame on ME.
Just say no to the Democrat lite party. NO!!!
