House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said on Sunday that President George W. Bush was "one of the best presidents on immigration," but that the Republican Party had changed after being "hijacked by a radical wing" of the country.

"The Republican Party is the Grand Old Party. It's done great things for our country," the Democratic House leader told NBC's "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd. "What we've been saying to them is, take back your party.

"It's been hijacked by a radical wing of, I don't even know of what, of our country, not even of your party," Pelosi said. "When President Bush was president, we treated him with respect. We got a lot done working together. We opposed the war in Iraq and privatizing Social Security, but he was one of the best presidents on immigration.

A compliment from Nanzi is not a good thing.

It’s great to see the truth coming out. Bush v. Gore was uniparty vs. uniparty. So who f-ing cares who the chads hung for. It was a game for personal aggrandizement between two over-grown frat boys. They were both useless.

What we really need is a 5 year moratorium on all immigration so we can figure out who has already snuck in.

Pelosi talking nice about Bush, about the GOP, shows just how far leftist/globalist they became.

Boy was I fooled.

Trump is capitalizing on the exposure of the Uniparty; Hillary mentioning Republican politicians dumping Trump must be helping him (and confirming that she is the same as them).

...but he was one of the best presidents on immigration.

Yes, if you believed in a "new America" like Bush did.

THE "NEW AMERICAN"
..........<

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. This nation was to George Bush (both of them)...

...what women are to Bill Clinton.

Something to be used for their own self-aggrandizement.

After actively working to destroy GWB, she now flips.
She is REALLY scared about Trump to make her do this.

In one of his 911 speeches, Bush gave a list of America’s greatest allies and friends, nations that stand with America, blah blah. He mentioned Mexico but not Canada.

From Pelosi’s perspective that’s true.
George W. Bush refused to enforce the laws and secure the border facilitating the importation of undocumented Democrats.

He let in about a million muslims IIRC. Maybe more.

The Bush family is largely responsible for the 30 million illegal aliens we have in this country.
The 30 year bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of immigration laws started right after the last amnesty with George H.W. Bush.
It was his responsibility to implement the enforcement measures that were supposed to make any more amnesties unnecessary.
All we have gotten since then are more attempts at more amnesty.
In every eection since the last amnesty it has been an amnesty vs amnesty election.
This was intentional.
They have been blocking the citizens from doing anything about the illegal alien inundation.
They had planned to give us another amnesty candidate with Yeb!
This time they got Trumped and they are royally pissed off about it.

me too but we saw the light and have been pushing for and have a champion.

Trump is closing - once he closes its exactly that people are done and move on to the next decision and will defend past buying decisions.

With Trump, there always seems to be a bit of playing coy at first to draw the enemy in and learn about them. Then the next meet up things are hyped up even more and boom he delivers.

Spend the money put HRC on defense.

Close the deal with all the undecideds at the last debate.

Go Trump! Go

It always happens.

The Republican Presidents that they despised when they were in office, they love once they leave, and lament how Republicans aren’t like the former President.

It even happened with Reagan.
