Like Giulani, La Guardia was only elected after New York City had reached rock bottom, crashed through that bottom and found a whole new bottom.
You wouldn't believe how corrupt the city was under Mayor Walker of the Tammany Hall machine. Even the NYPD was involved with kidnapping citizens off the street and framing them for crimes to collect the fines. When the NYPD began kidnapping working women, housewives and Catholic school girls in their uniforms, Cardinal Dennis Patrick Hayes, the Archbishop of New York, led a coalition to remove him. Two years later, La Guardia was the product of that move. I'll have to write a Publius Essay on the whole thing.

Crooked has two events today. Warren, MI maybe 3500 attending. I have not seen a view of tonight’s Columbus, OH event. It is possible the Columbus, OH venue holds 10,000. Big city, college town, lots of “free college” marks to draw in.
