Interesting. When I went to the Trump rally here I had my Windows Nokia phone and my little Nikon camera - both of which have flashes. Flashes were going off around the arena all night. The only restriction was no big camera lenses.

Fiorello La Guardia was elected Mayor of New York City in 1933 as a Republican, and re-elected in 1937 and 1941. He did to New York what Giuliani did, but it was a bigger hill to climb because he had to destroy the Tammany Hall political machine first. Someday I’ll post an essay about what La Guardia did, how he did it, and how he was assisted by Thomas Dewey, Robert Moses and even FDR behind the scenes.
The difference is that, being of the same party, Trump has some leverage over them -- especially if he has a mandate. He can support their re-election...or support their primary opponent. He can appoint their cousin Rollo to an Ag Dept job...or he can appoint somebody else. He can support their legislative project...or he can work against it.
At the very least, Trump will command the loyalty of a significant minority in both the House and Senate cauci. Should Mitch choose to block Trump's shit, this will give Trump the power to block Mitch's shit in return.
The Office of the President is the most powerful single institution in Washington. If Trump wields that power wisely, more often than not he'll be able to bend a Republican Congress to his will.
On the other hand, Trump will have no leverage whatsoever against a Democrat majority hungering for revenge. If he's unable to implement any of his promised reforms, Trump is probably a one-termer.
I despise Karl Rove along with Paul Ryan. They might as well be dimoKKKRATS as far as I am concerned. This is all out war.
Maybe Trump should just buy it.

Already did that 10 years ago. Got tire of being lied to, and besides, sitting passively in front of a TV for hours on end is terrible for one’s health.
Former mayor of NY. Airport named after him. He was tough on crime but somewhat of a progressive.
He was outgoing to put it mildly.
Going to Apollo is a waste of time. NY is hopeless. Spend time in CO, NC, VA, PA, and FL. I think OH, IA, and NV are locked in now.

Because of the amount of folks on the floor area standing, the max capacity for the structure may have been reached. The fire marshal may have said the building is at its limit for safe exiting case of an emergency.

Sometimes at the Trump rallies, the fire marshal does not allow the arena to be filled to capacity because of safety issues in case of an emergency, just like you said.
