You will have people who will tear into Grant for some of the Decisions he did during the Civil War.
The Fact is, He Won and Lee Lost.
This is Spotsylvania or The Wilderness Battles.
While we may weep at this story, Trump has decided that instead of retreating, as all former GOP candidates would have done, or keep pushing and attacking.
This is a dramatic moment (in conjunction with last Debate) this confirms that Trump is going to stick with us, he will follow this election to the end, that there will be no more retreats.
This is a Man that is going to Fight, This is a Man who will not admit defeat.
Very apt comparison.
Great comment.
Every time I think of Trump, I think of Lincoln’s famous quote about Grant.
“I can’t spare this man. He fights.”
Our McClellan, Burnside, and Hooker were named Bush, McCain, and Romney.
The timidity of the GOPe is astonishing, considering that anybody entering politics ought to know that a thick skin is pretty much essential for the job.
I think that is a fair comparison, and an ugly win beats a graceful defeat every single time.
For me, I hope, trust, and pray that Donald Trump hangs in there and keeps up the good fight.
The apology was complete and sufficient.
I only hope Trump attacks—This disclosure would have killed a McCain, Mitt Romney, even Ted Cruz or any Bush. I was so depressed—It looked like Hillary struck her “October Surprise” first and it was a killer. That is all they will talk about at the Trial, conviction and crucifixion—the so called Debate, this Sunday. Trump must become aggressive, he must attack Hillary—In his own words “What do you have to lose?” Hillary won unless she falls down in a faint on camera at the debate (She will be so drugged up and programed that this will not happen until after she is appointed president). He must channel his inner New Yorker! What would Teddy Roosevelt Do? Trump Just lost -— So why not go for broke—with a Charge of the Light Brigade? If he can take down Hillary he will do the nation a service.
And then there was George Patton, flawed for sure, but shortened the war and saved thousands of lives.
