Yes we are in Texas. We pooled our family resources this spring and my son, who lives about ten miles away, put in a whole house generator system in. Even though we haven’t had any hurricanes this year, his system has come on several times already, only ran max of 15 minutes though. But we at least know it works! Will be a lot easier on our family than fighting the YUGE traffic problems during evac.

I live in Spring, North of Houston. I supplied power to the neighbors too after Ike blew thru. Also loaned them kerosene lamps since they were using tea candles. We were without power for about a week. Luckily the weather turned cool after it passed!!
