I was attacked on this site for typing that the media and government agencies were lying , they were predicting a catastrophe of monumental proportions, 140 mph winds at landfall etc. I said it was not going to be 140mph but much mush less, and this 46 mph proves it , it's nothing just like a thunderstorm 46 mph doesn't equal a catastrophe. the media is the enemy and one of the few things you really have to fear is the media
My rule of thumb: If the Gov’t says it’s sunny outside and the media hypes it, get your umbrella and go outside to check it. Two years ago they told us we would have a warmer than usual winter with little snowfall. I called the local radio talk show and told everyone to buy TWO snow shovels as we will wear one down to the handles. I was correct. That winter didn’t want to quit until late March.
They haven’t had the storm surge yet. They’re still predicting bad flooding from Daytona northward.
btw - a 107mph gust was clocked at Cape Canaveral
There was another guy who lived through hurricanes down there that made a joke on the Matthew thread. People pounced on him and told him not to joke about this .
He said this was hyped up.
Perhaps you should have been, because all that could have easily come true. I know people who worked in the Hurricane Center, and they dont lie. Yes, the government gets hysterical, but they have to look at the worst possible case. The media does too because it makes for RATINGS. But to say they flat out lie is .. a LIE! See? I can do it too.
Trust me, one wrong turn of these storms, and they shall rain hell upon you. Been there, done that, not fun at all.
