Merkel: EU market access and freedom of movement inseparable

At a meeting of German industry leaders and policymakers in Berlin on Thursday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called Britain's vote to leave the EU a watershed moment for the EU, adding that "Brexit negotiations won't be easy." She insisted that full access to the internal EU market was conditioned on the freedom of movement, or else "each member state will start doing what it wants."

In the same vein, German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel said it was important to make clear that full access to the bloc's single market was ultimately linked to accepting freedom of movement. "But this should not prevent us from trying to keep the Britons as close as possible to Europe," Gabriel argued at the meeting.

Merkel promised industry there would be small tax cuts to the tune of over 6 billion euros ($6.7 billion) in 2017 which would also benefit middle-income people and with them small and medium-sized companies. She also promised more investments in the nation's infrastructure as tax revenues soared.

At the same time, the Chancellor defended Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble's policy of sticking to a balanced budget in the years ahead, noting there was no justification "to heap a bigger debt load on the generations to come."

They are just pulling out all the stops to put off the inevitable a little longer. A couple of months here, a week there, etc.

They are buying time. It’s a bit like burning the furniture to heat your home, and there are six months of winter left.

She’s Hillary’s favorite world leader for good reason.

Both aim to destroy their countries and usher in one world gov’t.

So, based on those unilateral comments, we must assume that Germany IS Europe. Hitler needn’t have bothered.

So she is saying "you have to let the unvetted muslims I allowed into Europe to be relocated to Britain or we will punish you by cutting off your access to the common market as part of Brexit negotiations."

Britain, last time Germany blockaded you the USA was where you looked for relief. Do it again. Their banking system is falling apart, soon they will need you more than you need them.

“[Merkel] noting there was no justification ‘to heap a bigger debt load on the generations to come.’”

I’m no Economic expert, but I think that horse is already out of the barn there, Chancellor! Import a bunch of lowlife rapists who live off of the peoples largess while they’re plotting to kill you all.

WHY is this woman still in office? Of course, I could ask the same of America’s, ‘leadership’ who are hellbent on doing the same to US!

Scratch a kraut, find a Nazi. Why does Every single EU policy statement come from her? Aren’t there other nations in the EU?

European self destruction. She’s trying to insist that all of Europe lay back and expose its collective throat to the knife. Brexit may be the Boston Tea Party of a general European revolt against die Haus Frau von Hölle and the EU. George III had real troops to oppose our revolution. All Merkel and the Brussels bureaucrats have is intimidation. Germans are used to being obeyed so it’s natural she thinks a little brow beating is all that’s required.
