They can’t. UN SecGen cannot be from teh Security Council permanent member countries, Russia, US, France, Great Britain or China............

I thought Obama ‘had decided’ to take that position.
I guess the decision wasn’t his alone.
He may really be after heading up the International Monetary Fund.

Obolo never can be United Nations Secretary-General, thank heavens.

The position is filled from nominees presented by the UN Security Council to the UN body for a vote.

The appointee may NOT be a citizen of any of the 5 permanent Security Council member countries....and the US is a permanent member.

There is unspoken rule in the UN that they don’t pick members of the permanent security council.
