I guess you do not even look to this project so here you are and do not spread misinformation about total ban of abortion. http://www.stopaborcji.pl/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/projekt_2016.pdf Project was not from PiS. It was idea of organisation called ORDO IURIS http://www.ordoiuris.pl/projekt-stop-aborcji-—pytania-i-odpowiedzi,3882,i.html Here is dementi from prime minister Beata Szydlo: “PiS government has not worked and is not working on any law amending the current regulations related to abortion laws in Poland. Parliament hit the draft prepared by the citizens...” http://wiadomosci.onet.pl/kraj/aborcja-premier-szydlo-komentuje-czarny-protest/8jd54w

A woman’s sense of liberty must not be defined by having the right kill.

God bless Poland, and prayers for its moral integrity.

NO NO NO! Nothing bad happened!!!Nothing to worry about! It's not a question of rat under the pro-choice strike, It's only a question of formality!

The reason why the draft is rejected is that it contains a few very crucial points that could lead to massive judicial trials. In other words, it was unable to be repaired as far as law is concerned and the whole draft must be written again.

THIS WILL HAPPEN VERY SSOON AND THIS TIME NOTHING'S GONNA STOP THAT!

The European leftists depict that as their huge victory as an aftermath of their street rallies. IT'S REALLY NOT THAT WAY, BUT...

By now, so be it :)
Let them have that one last day of triumph :)

IN FACT:

First, their street protests gathered 2-5 times less people than routine yearly pro-life marches in June.

Second.

The Law & Justice has already started working on the bill that will ban any eugenic abortion reasons. There's only one point the Law & Justice is strongly divided. It's a question of rape. All other aspects of abortion are out of any discussion.

"The European leftists depict that as their huge victory as an aftermath of their street rallies."

I don't think it's simply a 'leftist' position. Many of my Polish female friends attended the czarnyprotest marches and most of them are far from bring lefties, they are just ordinary Polish women. There's a fear among quite a lot of them, rightly or wrongly, that the Catholic Church is gaining far too much power in Polish politics. They believe there should be a complete separation of Church and State, which I am inclined to agree with. It's not just abortion laws they are concerned about, either, it's also legislation on IVF and contraception.

Don't give me that TVN crap, please. "Ordinary women"...? That's who you try to say anywhere out in this world.

Not many in the world know that simultaneously there was "The White March" all across the Polish churches which gather up to 5 TIMES MORE WOMEN and girls dressed in White than the Black one. The problem is that the White March was just a hundreds of silent masses and were not so loud, orchestrated and noticeable as the Black Death March.

The rhetoric you're using is as old as hills. Nothing can mislead us.

In fact, vast majority of them were far left activists with psychopathic, marxist hatred toward the Catholics Church and ANYBODY who believes in God.

Here's your "ordinary" women. To me, and the vast majority of the common ordinary people, they are vulgar and disgusting. The others, I'm not even going to talk about.

Catholic Church is gaining far too much power in Polish politics...

We, the people who belong to the Catholic Church, are the Catholic Church and we'll have as much power as we can gain during the democratic election.

Looks like you, Marxists, still cannot comprehend that in democrasy any power comes from the democratic election, and that's all, comrade.

Marxist, right. One who's been on Free Republic since before 9/11 and who has made regular donations.

The Catholic Church has no business sticking its long and corrupted snout into secular government. Period. I am a Libertarian and there should be no such interference from ANY religious body in the everyday running of any nation on the planet.

"Here's your "ordinary" women. "

How odd. They look nothing like my mother-in-law and her friends who were also on the march. They're in their early 70s. Not just choosing images to suit your argument, perchance? Non of my Polish female friends who attended Czarny Protest look anything like that.

I am Conservative. Libertarian or marxist, makes no difference to me. Both hate the most substantial part of the human existence, its innate right to live under God from the conception till the natural death. Both hate God and His everlasting law, The Ten Commandments they call either oppressive or the “opium for masses”.

If they could, they both would send all the believers, Christians and anybody else alike back to “secular” Gulags and Crematoria, to reach their everlasting goal - THE SECULAR WORLD.

You are quite free to live under God for whatever period of time you see fit. The Ten Commandments are neither oppressive or opium, they're literature. I'm really not interested in sending anyone anywhere. Keep your noses out of politics, it's none of your business. Just concentrate on your rosaries and your Hail Marys.

The sick, shouting like madmen, beasts who demand to have the right to murder their own children...
No, man. Enough is enough. It’s beyond human dignity to talk to you.

I was hoping the law would go through. But the marchers were not pro-EU or arm-twisting by the EU.

This was local and many people thought that the law would prosecute mothers who had a miscarriage.

Dr. Sivana " Decades of occupation by Nazis and Soviet Communists may also skew your view of the world. " -- then why does Poland have one of the best pro-life laws, far better than Western Europe or the USA -- neither of which had these "decades of occupation"

I said skew, not corrupt. Poland has resisted the onslaught better than other formerly great Catholic areas (Quebec, Ireland), and there are many great minds in philosophy (and NOT just the phenomenological school of thought favored by JP II), etc. They were affected less because they held onto the Faith better from the beginning (Chesterton actually claimed that Poland would bring Christianity back to Europe, and he said it before 1935 when he died), but the Faith has been weakened, and some who are nationalistic are more attached to some of the trappings than the Faith itself (Quebec fell into this trap in a massive way).

I didn't mean to put down Poland, just to acknowledge that this country has been on the receiving end of disinformation and attempted forced totalitarian secularism for the better part of a century, and skewing is not too strog a word to describe the net effect. (My mother's mother was 100% Polish, and I grew up in a Catholic Parish founded for Polish descendants, for the record).

Thank you for the calm answer and apologies for my statement -- I've spent the past week at expat meetings fighting with many Americans and Brits who call Poland a racist country and give as proof 3 incidents where Turks or Indians were attacked -- what is idiotic about this is:
  1. These were 3 incidents in 2016 -- all of 2016
  2. it's not clear if these were racially motivated (no slurs thrown) or just hooligans or theives
  3. All the Americans and Brits doing the "Poles = racist" stuff are white
  4. I know many Indians, Filipinos etc. (Catholics) and during these meetings they step up and say "No, Poland is not racist -- I've never expereinced anything but friendliness
the non-white guys are dismissed by the white liberals each time. It's aggravating -- I'm not of Polish descent,b ut Ihave lived here 6 years and my wife and kids are Polish and I get particularly angry when people toss wrong statements -- there are other things to criticize Poles about, but not about being racist
