Hurricane Matthew Live Thread II
NOAA/NHC ^ | October 6 2016 | NOAA/NHC

Posted on 10/06/2016 4:10:09 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Hurricane Matthew is big, bad and just downright scary, with iminent and sustained impacts to U.S. mainland. Florida Governor Rick Scott issued a state of emergency for all of Florida and disaster operations are activated. More than 1.5 million Floridians reside in current evacuation zones. Governor Scott has spoken with utilities across the state to ensure utilities are pre-positioned and there are no unmet needs. Multiple coastal hospitals have been evacuated. Meanwhile, feckless President Barack Hussein Obama is personally monitoring the progress of the storm.

That has to be a top-ten suckage photo - seening your Benz flooded to the top of the doors. If I owned a car like that, it would be on the third floor of a four story parking garage about now.

Yeah, and that is also a big danger for Carolina flooding. Bad things happen when a tropical system runs into a front - Google Agnes for details.

And Matthew has consistently had what some Wunderground posters call a doppleganger to his east. That could become a wildcard for flooding rains.

I wonder if that’s the same strain of cholera the UN Gurkhas introduced into Haiti?

Wind scares you, but water kills you. We can only hope the rainfall from this peters out. So far the US has been lucky. Let’s hope that luck holds for the next 48 hours.

..."800 dead in Haiti".....

Not surprised at that..where are they going to go? Most live in shacks and their government certainly couldn't care that they do, while they live in palaces and send all the "relief funds" off shore for supposedly safe keeping.... Or the agencies just keep it rolling on through to wherever.....sad state of affairs that's not going to change until the Clintons and the long term agencies running things get their hands out of the pie.

Rainfall amounts 9 to 16-inches+ along Carolina coasts from Hurricane Matthew will lead to major flooding.

Yow. That pic gave me a flashback to driving one foggy night on the OBX beachside and coming to a part of the dune road that had a drop about twice that height and a track only 7’ wide to negotiate over about 100’....2 am bone tired.
