If Saturday Night Live isn't going to take down Trump, what's the point of Saturday Night Live?

In a recent interview on the Politico podcast "Off Message," SNL's Weekend Update co-hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost defended Donald Trump, saying he's "super smart" and "super hardworking," and implying he doesn't deserve all the negative attention he gets. Che also said, "Let's not pretend that this guy is a mutant, you know, and he's the most evil, racist, mutant piece of crap that ever walked. Listen, there's probably somebody in your building way worse than Donald Trump, and you buy bagels from him, and it's fine."

The argument that there are "worse" racists is blatantly stupid. None of those worse racists have a shot at becoming president in the next month. (I can't believe we even have to say these things!) Che is a successful comedy writer / performer who presumably has some training in writing and performing satire. He's probably received some amount of education on the history of political satire, which has been used as a subversive counterweight to power since the beginning of governments.

And yet none of them can explain what makes him ‘racist’

(not with anything accurate, at least)

Kaitlyn Tiffany?....... well there’s your answer, right there............

Tiffany's resume(Not kidding)

Is this homely little goo stain anymore of a cliche? She even has the requisite micro penis Beta male FWB on her Facebook page. What a vapid little life of binge drinking, eating Indian food and trying to be comfortable with a worldview bereft of any logic, meaning or substance. Where just being pithy and clever is all you aspire to.

Then again she I think is 25, so I ignore her, like a puppy yapping at me at the dog park. You don't even exist Tiffany, you DON'T matter, keep it up and that will be a permanent state of your existence. You are the 3rd girl in line at Urban Outfitters buying that ugly mohair sweater with your greasy unkept hair and your ruddy skin. Stinking like cigarettes, mild BO and your BF's sex. Cucked Daddy supports your "You being you" sponging with his 3k check every 3rd day of the month and his weekly Facetimes where he calls you his precious little pumpkin and tells you how great you are.

Your averageness is not buffeted by your witty prose and you useless degree, you are that empty, angry, bully you always were. We know who you are and the 1000's of John Stewart wannabees and you will hear from us November 8th. Get ready for a new life Tiffany and a new country. A country where SJW asshats like you and your friends are going to get a huge donkey punch in your smug faces of Lena Dunham fug

A lot of the SNL folks from the late 80s turned out to be conservative, Victoria Jackson, Dennis Miller, even Jon Lovitz, has come out against Obama.

I remember when SNL was hip counter-culture. When did it become the Establishment hit-man?

Che and Jost are the most left leaning anchors that Weekend Update has ever had. If they still can’t satisfy this pajama babe, she must be way out there.

Could it be worse than the current racist in the White House?

An Obama-addicted, Cornell educated, barista speaks:

” Did Palin really deserve to be eviscerated on TV? Yes. She had already accused Obama of “palling around with terrorists”. And she might have made it to the White House. She might have made it to the White House!”

She complains about Trump’s rough speech and then champions public bullying to the level of ‘eviscerating’. It’s ok in her world to be intentionally and maliciously mean to those she doesn’t like - including SNL Trump supporters.

But the best comment in the article was Jost: “Listen, there’s probably somebody in your building way worse than Donald Trump, and you buy bagels from him, and it’s fine”. Take that, Mx. Barista.

Original Cast was, well, original. Real comedy that no one had seen before.

The late 80s cast was still pretty funny. Nothing new or original, but still managed to pull through some decent schtick. "The Sinatra Group" still kills me, though I've seen it 500 times.

SNL started sliding downhill about the time that Dennis Miller left the show. Everything became more liberal and more politically correct. The comedians became too safe, afraid of offending anyone other than those (white, male, or conservative) it was safe to offend.

I still watch it occasionally. SNL to me is sort of like the crazy uncle that you used to like when you were a kid and now feel obligated to visit once in awhile, even though he's standing on the front porch in his underwear hollering at cars. It's not that I don't get their current brand of humor - I get it, I understand where they're going - it's just not funny. Lousy writing and mostly 2nd rate PC performers, in a properly diverse mix as well, makes for poor entertainment.

That, and someone needs to tell Will Ferrell - and the dozens of clones that have followed in his footsteps - that yelling the joke loudly doesn't make it any funnier.

40-50 years ago Hillary would have been the laughing stock of the left. The satire back then was savage, and funny, and it was aimed at both sides. Now what passes for satire is just a bunch of liberals trying to one up each other in their hatred of conservatives, and it’s certainly not funny.

For a glimpse of real satire, try to find the song ‘Pull The Triggers’ from the old National Lampoon Lemmings stage show. It mauls the self righteous Joan Baez, and all the liberals pandering to black radicals. Listen to the song and think about what would happen to SNL if they performed this song about BLM and their self-hating liberal white supporters today.

Basically, Byrd was saying that all blacks are n-words. And that “there are SOME” white n-words.

It’s disgusting. Why was he still revered as the lion of the senate, just a few years ago??

Hill and Bill obviously had NO PROBLEM with him being KKK. What about the voters who kept re electing him? I don’t get it.

Admitting that it’s never been a comedy show, but a political weapon.
