Never underestimate the primal need for french toast in a hurricane. ;)
In N. Carolina they do that for snowstorms too. My dad is in Winston-Salem, but he grew up in western Michigan. Lake effect snow up to your ass every winter. they get a couple of inches in NC they all run out and buy bread and milk. My dad laughs his ass off every time.
