Ratings for National Football League (NFL) games are on the decline through the first four weeks of the 2016 season … with some blaming the #BlackLivesMatter protests initiated by San Francisco 49ers’ backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Sunday night’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers drew just 16.7 million viewers – the lowest primetime audience of the year.
That’s bad … but it’s even worse when you consider the previous three installments of Sunday Night Football also drew audiences that were smaller than last year by an average of 11.6 percent.
Thursday Night Football on the NFL Network is tanking, too – averaging an 11 percent drop in viewers through its first three telecasts (the 2016 Thursday night kickoff on NBC was down by eight percent, too).
Viewership for Monday Night Football is also way down – by an average of 27 percent per game from last year (in fairness, those totals included a game last week that was held opposite the first 2016 presidential debate).
NFL apologists are quick to point out that the league’s television audiences still dwarf anything else appearing on the small screen. And they are correct.
But the early returns are clearly not good for the NFL …
I will not watch an NFL game this season. Would feel guilty.
Also, did you happen to see this story in any of these football threads here, about the East Carolina University fans booing their own band, after about 20 of them had kneeled in protest during their playing of our National Anthem?

Saw a few East Carolina U. band members pulled the stunt. They’d be packing if I had anything to be with it.

Since the NFL, it's commissioner, its owners, its coaches, and it's players have decided to support those who HATE America; those who SPIT on America, spit on its flag, spit on its vets, spit on its CITIZENS, spit on their fans, spit on our National Anthem and who denigrate America and it's core values; the NFL is dead to me.
I haven't watched the NFL OR SUPPORTED THEIR SPONSORS/FINANCIAL P.C. ENABLERS since they declared by their words and actions that they care more about the BLM anti-American ANARCHISTS than they do America and LAW ABIDING American CITIZENS who make up their traditional FAN BASE!
Didn't watch, ANY NFL games, not going to watch ANY NFL games INCLUDING THE "super bowl".
The NFL and their sponsors want to bow down, support and coddle the racist, anti-American "Black Lives Matter More Than Any Other Lives" tiny thug minority, and try and shove the "BLM" propaganda down our collective throats, then LET BLM WATCH the NFL, PAY for the tickets, PAY for their outrageously expensive concessions and financially support the NFL, it's owners, managers, coaches, thug players and its nefarious, enabler "PC" run-ammock advertising sponsors!
As for us... the anti-American NFL ISN'T GOING TO MAKE A PENNY OF REVENUE OFF OF US. NOT A PENNY, UNLESS AND UNTIL THE NFL PUTS AN END TO THIS "P.C." BLM NONSENSE, PUNISHES THE PLAYERS ENGAGING IN THIS CRAP AND DECIDES TO SIDE WITH AMERICANS WHO LOVE AMERICA, INSTEAD OF THUG BLM ANARCHISTS!

The NCAA?? The same NCAA that is trying to dictate what the bathroom laws should be in North Carolina? What makes them “pure” in comparison to the NFL?
If have to choose between idiot millionaires not standing for the anthem or an organization that favors perverts in the girls locker room I’m gonna stick with the idiot millionaires on this one.
Not that I can stand either.
I am boycotting the NBA and NFL and several actors and I actively work against them on social media.
I gave up on the NBA and MLB.
