I think he is a clear precursor to the Anti-Christ. it was unbelievable about how fast he rose to prominence, and the level of worship he received. That being said, he didn’t fool enough people. I think the Anti-Christ will fool 95% of the World.
My belief is that there are two end times, one that happened in 1939-45 and led to a millennial kingdom, then another end time that will lead to a permanent kingdom.
I realize this is not accepted theology for many, but would say this — all of the events of the world war two era, including collaboration of beast (Nazi Germany) and whore of Babylon (USSR) followed by massive destruction, all came to pass in a very tight time frame similar to the double 3.5 year scenario. The world that then came into being included a state of Israel, a widespread surge of evangelical Christianity, and until the rise of militant Islam, considerable peace and prosperity. To an ancient observer transported forward (and this is how we got Revelations and Daniel) the modern world may have appeared kingdom-like. Then the final resolution of all this will be the “little season” when the chained up beast, dragon and false prophet come out to mount a final and doomed attempt to deny God the conclusive final victory.
In my scenario, Adolf Hitler was an antichrist figure of the first end time. My Babylon theory is bolstered by the fact that the Soviet Union had seven kings and then another who appeared different (Gorbachev) but turned out to be more of the same; then it shattered and disappeared. Perhaps Putin is more of a blend of kingdom and antichrist but in any case, I am not convinced that there is a second antichrist required but just the spirit of antichrist which is very evident in the world today, and of which Obama is a sort of poster child.
Like some of you, I could not accept that he has been quite as powerful or influential as one might expect an Antichrist to be; my question is always whether or not the “beast” is even meant to be a type of Antichrist or whether it refers instead to a state. Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union were about equally beast-like and were symbolized by two vicious beasts, the wolf and the bear.
I note that the current world is very much set up for a sudden appearance of Christ, the mystery of why there are both second coming and final throne imagery and two separate (by a millennium) end times could be resolved by all this and instead of a thousand years, it would be “of the millenium” instead, allowing this era to come to a merciful end much sooner than 2945 A.D. which would be the interpretation literally.
Of what I am more certain is this — Obama is a dangerous and pathological personality and should never have risen to the heights that he did without much more serious vetting which would have ended his bogus career. That’s what many Republicans really believe, I would guess, and in that, they are absolutely correct.
By the way, announcing all this right at the feast of trumpets? Hmm, there’s some more imagery to ponder. The feast of tabernacles begins at the full moon in two weeks. These high holy days are often thought to be likely timing for the end of days.
