PHOTO: Hillary plays to empty pews at NC black church

Seating was not an issue during Hillary Clinton’s appearance at a black church in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday morning.

Clinton hammered on themes of “systemic racism,” white privilege and police brutality to the overwhelmingly black audience in an apparent effort to shore up that sector of support.

But as video shows, there apparently wasn’t much clamoring to hear her speak.

Here’s a shot as the camera panned out to show the congregants. Except for the first couple rows, the pews were sparsely filled.

Let’s give number 1 a spin. Let’s assume she is speaking to a very small congregation to begin with. Even with that scenario it doesn’t look good for her. I wonder how long the church knew she would be coming, how widely it was publicized - both by the church and the local Hillary campaign, and whether this event was published in advance on her schedule. If the church and campaign knew in advance she was coming and had time to promote it, that is a very poor turnout even if the congregation is small. My guess: this is nothing more than a photo op to drum up Black votes. The media would show clips of her showing how much she cares for this important voting demographic. It was never expected that photos or videos showing sparse attendance or weak enthusiasm would be released by the lap-dog media.

It seems you've not been culturally enhanced by attendance at a black church so you could have enjoyed the experience of the front row deaconesses in nurse outfits who tend to the preacher when he gets wound up in the spirit of the message. When that happens in the middle of the message, they spring into action with water, fans, and towels to give the preacher a break while creating a small bit of drama as to whether he will be able to continue. Upon recovering and fortifying himself, the preacher will rise to return to the spirit of the message with much vocal appreciation for the front row sisters for helping him deliver the message. You really need to go see it for yourself.

Of course, yesterday, they were ready to spring into action to assist Hillary if she should have another "spell", as the sisters would term it.

Methinks some of the white people in the back pews might be Trumpsters, being very polite and unintrusive while they take a lot of pictures like this one, the absolutely perfect thing to do at a Hillary rally like this.

Sounds like fun.

It is, in its own way. I recommend some device to ensure you don't bust a gut when observing this or, in the alternative, some chemical enhancement to help you maintain your sober attitude and not draw attention to yourself. The time I observed what I described was at a funeral so it was a little easier to maintain composure.
