UH, news flash for Market Watch or whoever published this: Democrats have NEVER BEEN a friend of the working man, the small business man, the black man, or women.

Never.

Left vs Right is meaningless today. The terms are outdated.
Liberal vs Conservative is meaningless today. The terms are outdated.
Democrat vs Republican is meaningless today. The terms are outdated.

It’s Patriot vs Globalist.
or
Judeo-Christian values vs Evil

There are no other struggles.

If Democrats were more interested in doing what is best for the country rather than what is best for their political careers, this would not be a “hijacked” issue.

Actually, the same could be said for Republicans.

I hate politics that is nothing more than maneuvering for more power for the politicians. Democrats are the most egregious in that regard, but Republicans (RINOs) do that, too.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if, instead of arguing over issues because of their political value, politicians would instead argue over what are the best solutions to the identified problems?

Politically, Democrats decided to abandon appealing to certain groups.

Democrats decided to go all in with those pushing certain agendas. So, you see Democrats claiming to be the political champions of various minority groups, “LGBT” sexual identity peoples, environmental nuts, abortion rights activists and their “feminist” allies...........

Democrats decided to go all in, with the idea that various groups of people are discriminated against, and need big government solutions to the problems these people allegedly have.

And Democrats are all in, on the idea that any problem, everything from alleged racial discrimination to environmental problems, demands a solution from the federal government in Washington, DC. The Democrats have earned the stereotypical identity as the party of big government.

Democrats decided, that they would win elections more often than not, in promising to use the enormous power of big government, to help impose their vision of how the world should be on the rest of us.

Everything from trans-gender bathroom issues, to global warming issues, are viewed through the prism, by liberals, of them wanting to impose their views on us. And by extension, their need to use the power of the federal government to impose their visions on us.

The story of Trump’s amazingly successful movement is also the story of how Democrats turned their backs on their working-class roots and sided with the elites on the crucial economic question of our times: Who would win from globalization, and who would lose?

Exactly. Trump is running a presidential campaign of a Democratic candidate of the 1960’s such as JFK or Hubert Humphrey. A strong emphasis on national defense, but especially focusing on issues affecting working class Americans. The Democrats of today would condemn JFK and Hubert Humphrey as warmongers.

Trump is saying what Buchanan said back in 2000. He was right then but nobody listened. Kudos to Trump for grabbing the spotlight

If Trump can get taxes lowered on corporations and small businesses and get some better trade agreements, this economy will respond well. Cut a few regulations killing coal and hampering other industries and there will be plenty of jobs.
