My stepmom(86)is in Jupiter (Jonathan’s Landing). My brother (Lake Worth) is at her home now, hopefully securing shutters. I wish they would just fly north. Ironically, they were here 2 weeks ago. Mom wanted to be away from FL during the season. This one is a bit late....and yes, I’m worried.

Lived in Lake Worth for 10 years when kids were little. Talked to daughter, windows boarded, batteries fresh, plenty of food, coolers will be filled with ice tomorrow day. Luckily she lives on a grid with the local hospital and all her powerlines are underground and the main transmission lines into her neighborhood were those old pine twigs but were replaced with concrete back in the mid-2000's. So any power outage should be brief. It was back in 2004 when my house took Jeanne and Frances' wrath. We in fact sleep at daughters for the two weeks, it was 95 and sweltering and after a day of using a chainsaw you just wanted a cold shower and rest in A\C.

Any of you that have never experienced a major hurricane, it's quite an interesting experience. The howling wind, the large debris hitting your house and the rain blowing in around your shutters. My kids at the time thought it was real cool, me and wife not so much.
