The Rev. Gretta Vosper is a dynamic, activist minister with a loyal following at her Protestant congregation in suburban Toronto. She is also an outspoken atheist. “We don’t talk about God,” Vosper said in an interview, describing services at her West Hill United Church, adding that it’s time the church gave up on “the idolatry of a theistic god.”

Amazing what were hardcore Calvinistic churches is even having a debate whether to allowed an avowed atheist to be a minister.

If they don’t talk about Jesus, what in the world do they talk about?

And what in the world is the basis for calling it a “protestant congregation”.

Gretta is probably a dyke, which means she is her own god.

Protestant reasoning leads (or, can lead) to some unusual places.

It is ridiculous. The reason for a gathering is to worship
God. if this is not happening than it is no longer a chruch.

A group of lost souls meeting in a building doesn’t make a church.

She wants her 15 minutes of media attention. Unfortunately for her she will also get eternity in hell.

Mark 9:42
Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea.

Maybe I’m missing something, but... How does an atheist minister in a Christian church counsel and guide his/her congregation?

If they don’t talk about Jesus, what in the world do they talk about?

If they are like my former (ELCA) church, after they wrap up the traditional pleas or threats over finances, they talk about how wonderful human beings are... as long as they aren't white, heterosexual, pro-Israel, Bible-centered, politically conservative, or too protective of the unborn for polite company.

If there is any time left over, they will talk about how terrible human beings are... as long as they are white, heterosexual, pro-Israel, Bible-centered, politically conservative, or too protective of the unborn for polite company.

Rev. Gretta Vosper differs from many of the "ecclesiastical" miscreants who have crossed my path in that she has found a sinecure where she can dispense with the camouflage.

I guess it’s because they are protesting against the “theistic God”. She and her kind will be cast into the lake of fire one day.
