An Austin ISD maintenance worker and his wife were sentenced to federal prison Thursday for conspiring to smuggle more than 500 illegal immigrants into the United States.
According to the United States Attorneys Office, San Juana Valdez Menchaca, 54, was sentenced to 70 months, and her husband, Julian Perez Perez, 57, was sentenced to 33 months.

Their citizenship should be permanently REVOKED.
And they are all still here I’m sure.
The federal government has left the barn door open for literally decades.
In light of that, how can they possibly convict someone on these grounds?
Should they be convicted? Yes. Should many people in the government be prosecuted and convicted? Damn straight!
Until those government people are held to account, the penalty phase of these folk’s conviction should be put on hold.
Nobody hates illegal immigration more than I do, but this is patently absurd.
We have sanctuary cities all over this nation and churches claim the right not to comply with federal law either.
Until those things are fixed, why give grief to individuals?
I do not get this? Who are they trying to fool?
