However, I suppose my concern is in data collecting and suspending of service. How would this new ‘take over’ use their central power to cause disruptions?
The disruptions possible would be minor at best.
Example: If the powers-that-be decided to remove Free Republic from the name servers, we would be reduced to using number-based urls.
No more www.freerepublic.com, but something numeric instead.
At worst, an inconvenience.
