DEVELOPING: At least one person was killed and dozens more were hurt after a crowded train slammed into a busy station in Hoboken, N.J., during the Thursday morning commute, investigators and local media reported.

The woman who died appeared to be standing on a nearby platform before the crash, a law enforcement source told Fox News, adding that the engineer was pulled from the train "semi-conscious" and rushed to a nearby hospital. People pulled concrete off bleeding victims and passengers kicked out the windows amid crying and screaming.

At least 65 riders were injured, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said, citing recent reports. Paramedics rushed at least 11 people to the emergency room at Jersey City Medical Center, with three of the patients in serious condition, hospital officials said. They added that none of the injuries was life-threatening and described 40 other patients who arrived by bus as "walking wounded," saying medical staffers were evaluating them in a cafeteria.

Why are they not talking about the ENGINEER? something sounds very strange that they are not reporting on his condition. Just watching a TV broadcast and one lady said she was praying it was a medical condition and nothing more?

I would think they know by know if he was deceased or if there was something more?

Do you think they had cameras in his cabin? I would think so. Hopefully we get answers.

William Blaine, another train engineer who witnessed the crash, told NBC New York that he was with authorities when they found the engineer slumped over in his chair. He says he believes the engineer died, but there has been no official confirmation from authorities

Funny how the foreign press gets more information before we do. I guess they don’t scrub the stories.

**At least 65 riders were injured, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said**

Crash was in NJ. I’ll bet the injured were all NJ residents. Why are they talking to Cuomo?

I thought there was a dead-man switch which cuts power when pressure is released by the operator.

A few days ago someone posted that the British papers pay people here to rewrite the AP reports (probably the originals) and email them to the papers. My guess is that most of what we see is only a fraction of what is gathered by the reporters. The Brit censors may not have the American media agenda and will print some of the information that gets shaved off for our local market.

The more complete raw news stories directly from AP

http://bigstory.ap.org/

have a treasure-trove of details omitted from outlets that repackage and edit AP stories.

The train route starts in upstate NY.

The train has three stops in NY before entering NJ: Spring Valley, Nanuet, & Pearl River. It crosses the state line and makes its first NJ stop in Montvale. None of those NY stops qualify as "upstate NY."

Crash was in NJ. I’ll bet the injured were all NJ residents.

Apparently this train line originates in Rockland Cty. NY.
