Every election cycle people on FR are yelling about the poles being wrong. Now we are going to attack Rasmussen? He was THE MAN on FR in 2012. Look, Trump was terrible in the debate, he was AWFUL. Blame the poles, accuse Hillary of cheating, make any excuses you want but it does not change the fact that Hillary kicked his ass. Now our boy is a quick study and I am sure that he will crush her in the next two debates but let’s be grown-ups and look at the truth, Trump sounded like a bumbling idiot, let’s hope he learned something and comes back with a vengeance.

Trump didn’t do great in the debate, but again, he didn’t need to.

Undecideds by and large have already written off Hillary... they are only watching to decide if they can vote for Trump or not, and in that debate he came out looking reasonable, and that’s all he had to do.

Polls that have tracked such things, how many undecideds changed their minds... The trend is clear, the range is 3 to 1 to 7 to 1 depending on the poll went Trump vs HIllary if they made a decision out of the debate.

Hillary isn’t up anywhere, she sure didn’t take any lead in FL or NC... this is gas lighting folks... nothing more. Come back in a week.

I'm glad that somebody else saw this. He was unprepared for the debate and actually admitted as much at one point on the stage. That admission created a mile-wide opening for Hillary, through which she drove her verbal tank at 50 mph by saying, "That's right, Donald...I did prepare for this debate. And you know what else I prepared for...I prepared to become President of the United States!"

In a one-on-one debate, you never leave your opponent an opening like that. Trump opened the door, and she steamrolled right over him with that line. With that gaffe, he managed to make her look far more accomplished than she actually is. With Trump committing blunders like that, Hillary didn't even need to cheat. At the moment he admitted that he had not prepared for the debate, Hillary probably couldn't believe her good luck in being handed (gift-wrapped, no less!) a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to portray herself as far more adroit than she really is.

The whole thing was pretty much over at that point, considering that she came out of that exchange looking like Superwoman. Now, while these debates aren't going to change any minds that are already made up, they can have an influence on the decision processes of people who are still undecided. Those are the people Trump needs to convince, and I just can't see any undecided voters moving into the Trump column based on Monday's event.

Say whatever you will about Ted Cruz, but if I were with the Trump campaign, I'd be asking Cruz if he has any advice that will help Trump avoid a repeat of Monday's debacle.

Amen. Regardless of what she was doing or saying, he had plenty of ammunition going into the debate. He didn’t use it and it’s not because he was cleverly saving it, it was that he did not have even a remote plan of his own and if he did, he forgot it.

Rasmussen is no longer in the polling business.

His company is now run by liberal pollsters who use his name by license.

Their bias is evident.
