Denmark’s decision to separate married couples in refugee centers if one party is below the age of 18 has been reversed after the government concluded it was in violation of international conventions.
Metroxpress reported on Wednesday that the Danish Immigration Service will now reunite several married couples who have been living separately since February.
“In some of these cases it has been it has been assessed that it would not be compatible with Denmark’s international obligations to maintain the separate living quarters, thus these couples have been offered to be housed together,” DIS wrote in an official response to a parliamentary enquiry.
Specifically, the agency concluded that the separate living quarters would violate the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child and Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantees the right to one’s “private and family life”. …

So herein, the Danish courts are actually defining pedophilia as “private and family life”, which is very dangerous and twisted precedent. Of course, to justify that, they also cited the UN’s relativistic Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is an “anything goes” document in many places and turns a blind eye to child marriage.

The age of consent in the UK is (or was when I was there) 16. Would they separate a UK couple?
if those married are within 2 years of age of each other and over 16 then I have no problem but my guess is that is not the case. in fact I bet the average age of the guys married to theses child brides is thirty and average age is fourteen.

In New Hampshire, girls can get married as young as 13 and boys at 14, with parental consent. In fact, many states allow marriage at 14 (over even younger) if the girl is pregnant. West Virginia doesn’t even have a minimum age as long as the parents and court approve. As repulsive as it may seem, it’s a fact.
