Yep, our volunteer military looks a lot like our society as a whole. Maybe it's not that impressive to you but it's who we are and what we've got. I'm thrilled that we still have a culture that considers our country worth defending. Sweden obviously no longer does.
Just as a side note, how many unwed mothers do you think have died in service to our nation?

I’ll bet that government benefits in Sweden are more generous than those the military give out. We can’t let it happen here.

No actually it doesn’t look like our society as a whole, it’s much more discriminating and in my opinion should be more so; elite schools and high income families are not represented very well. As regards unwed mothers, the more pertinent question is how many units deploy short of critical MOS personnel because of pregnancy.
