F.Gaffney on Obama’s Attempt to Slip Irreversible Internet Surrender Under the Radar:"
Breitbart - Hat Tip Drudge ^ | 9/28/16 | John Hayward

Full Title: Frank Gaffney on Obama’s Attempt to Slip Irreversible Internet Surrender Under the Radar: ‘We’ve Got THREE DAYS to Fix This"

Center President and founder Frank Gaffney joined Breitbart News Daily with SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Tuesday to offer his thoughts on the first presidential debate and a vitally important topic that was not addressed, the impending surrender of U.S. control of Internet registration. Registration.

Hillary Clinton made the case – I think pretty well, actually – for more of the same, and if you really want more of the same, whether it’s in immigration, whether it’s in trade policy, whether it’s in national security or generally, whether it’s on jobs or anything else, she’s the clear choice. I don’t think there’s any getting around it.

“What I thought Trump could have done better at was making clear how stark his differences are with her on several of those issues – notably, as you’ve been talking about, immigration. It’s better on trade, I guess,” Gaffney said. “This is the moment where the alternative of change, which is clearly what the American people are looking for, is on offer. And I think if he makes that case even better, in debates to come, he’s gonna do fine.”

Marlow suggested Trump’s slam of the Iran nuclear deal as “one of the worst in history” was the sort of moment Trump needs more of, given Clinton’s inability to respond effectively to the criticism.

“There were a number of places where he would have had her really on the ropes, had he pressed the attack or been given the opportunity by Lester Holt to press the attack,” Gaffney agreed.

In your post to me, you made accusations that were without basis. In your post before his one you did it again.

You stop. You started it and continued it.

Roll Call Vote Detail On CR Funding Bill With NO 1st Amendment Protection #ICANN

This shows Republicans voting FOR it, and Democrats voted against it. I don’t understand this.

IE Wisconsin’s Ron Johnson said Yea, and Tammy Baldiwin Nay

I don’t know for certain.

I am guessing the Dems did not vote for it because they did not get their pork added in...GOP that voted against it did so because it did not have the Protecting Internet Freedom Act language...Perhaps someone with “tools” can interpret it better than I ...I do note that the second listing has Cruz, Sessions and the other SB3034 Bill co-sponsors as voting no. I just am not sure why there are 2 lists.

When I called McConnell and Cruz offices today, they both said the bill voted on today contained no Protecting Internet Freedom Act provisions.

Perhaps I or someone can get thru to Cruz office for a clarification—they seem very receptive to people trying to help push the bill thru.

So Johnson voted the GOP Uniparty company line? and Baldwin voted no because no pork?

I think there will be something we can do, although it would be a huge effort. Trump could wall off the US internet and have ours inside and their oppressive internet regime outside. We could port connections to just allies, like England. The internet would never be the same but we could have freedom in our corner of the internet world. It would be a tremendous effort but it may have to be done.

Well as long as we are not under tyranny, your idea sounds good..

However, given the current state of media news reporting, I find myself reading more and more foreign publications to get the lowdown on what is really going on :(

It’s just the Dems forcing Ryan and GOP Congress to carry Obama’s water. Force Republicans to take tough votes, etc.

It’s over. ICANN is not in the CR and word is there will be no more bills. It will expire in its current form. Bottom line is Ryan & McConnell sold us out to K Street lobbyists. Again.

Who told you no more bills...

UPDATE FOR TODAY:

UPDATE (Which is constantly changing.):

MCCONNELL (SHALL I SAY TURTLE TRAITOR OR TRAITOR TURTLE—EH WHICHEVER) DID NOT INCLUDE SB3034 IN THE BILL VOTED ON TODAY—HIS OFFICE IS BLAMING THE DEMOCRATS FOR LOADING PORK...I WAS NOT HAPPY AND REFLECTED SUCH WITH MY COMMENT. PHONE GIRL EVEN GOT SNIPPY W/ME BUT IF WE STILL HAVE THE MAJORITY THEN WE CAN VOTE FOR IT...GAFFNEY ARTICLE SUGGESTS THAT WE PRESSURE DEMOCRATS—EVEN HILLARY TO GET OBAMA TO NOT VETO. As I have said, would he veto with his precious Zika funding (slush fund) that he has been whining for?

FROM TALKING TO CRUZ AND DUFFY’S OFFICES GOING FORWARD FOR NOW (could change), THE BEST BET IS:

1. CALL LOCAL HOUSE MEMBERS BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL, I REPEAT ALL, UP FOR REELECTION (so they might actually care more) AND THE HOUSE STILL HAS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PUT HR5418 INTO THE CONTINUING RESOLUTION...HOUSE MEMBERS NEED TO SUPPORT THE HR5418 AND CO-SPONSOR THE RESOLUTION...Then hopefully get a floor vote on Friday. I asked Cruz office what happens if no Floor vote on CR, and he did not know...

2. CONTACT SENATE LEADERSHIP (MCCONNELL OR CORNYN AND SATELLITE OFFICES MAY WORK BETTER) TO SUPPORT SB3034.

SOME GOOD NEWS IN THE HOUSE-—DUFFY NOW HAS 46 CO-SPONSORS. CONGRESSMAN DUFFY’S OFFICE SAID FOR FOLKS TO ASK CONGRESS REPS TO CO-SPONSOR THE BILL HR5418 AND VOTE YES...I CALLED MINE AND HE SAID HE WAS CONSIDERING IT—PROBABLY SAYING THAT BECAUSE HE IS UP FOR RE-ELECTION BECAUSE HE NEVER EVER HAS A POSITION PRIOR TO A VOTE...ONE OF MY PET PEEVES.

DUFFY OFFICE SAID IT WOULD HELP IF DEMOCRATS COULD PUT PRESSURE ON OBAMA TO SIGN THE BILL WITH 5418 PROTECTING INTERNET FREEDOM ACT PROVISIONS...~ Eh I don’t know why Obama would veto bill with precious Zika funding in it anyway, but that is a concern. DUFFY BELIEVES BEST WAY TO GET HOUSE VOTE IS THRU LOTS OF CO-SPONSORS...BUT THEY DON’T SEEM TO BELIEVE GOP HOUSE LEADERSHIP IS AGAINST IT...

CRUZ OFFICE SAID THAT MCCONNELL DID NOT PUT PROTECTING INTERNET FREEDOM ACT INTO THE CONTINUING RESOLUTION...BUT HOUSE STILL CAN AND THEN HOPEFULLY A FLOOR VOTE ON FRI.

CALLED MCCONNELL’S OFFICE TODAY AND HE IS BLAMING THE DEMOCRATS...THEY WANT TO LOAD UP PORK...IMHO I THINK HE IS RESPONSIBLE AND HE NEEDS TO BE PRESSED TOO...

This is the reason why I don’t bust my ass phoning them.

They couldn’t care less what I think.

For a couple years, c. 2001, I had a "free" fax service at my business. I was limited to 6 per day. At the time I spent a couple hours a day reading the Congressional Record and the Federal Registry - Evelyn Wood style. If I found something interesting I would compose a letter, i.e.,

Dear congress critter,

I noticed your introduction of H. B. ###, read your speech, etc., and find myself in agreement, etc., etc., and so forth. Please consider adding XYZ if possible.

Best regards,

kitchen
flyover country
phone number

This went to the sponsor/speaker and copied to the pubbie leaders and my congressman and two senators. Six per day, four or five times a week, for a good year and a half. Conservatively, I estimate well over 2,000 faxes. I never received a response.

Not.

One.

I’ve seen them turn off their fax machines and main phone numbers, so with your input and what I have observed, it’s a total waste of time.

Sad really.

I want to respect this nation, and they are purposefully doing their best to make it so I can’t.

Or worst!

No more House bills. That’s the Senate. And it needs a veto over ride. Chance of that happening? Nil. ICANN needed to be in a must pass bill like the CR. It’s over. Unfortunately.

I see on twitter that one of Ryan’s top aides is off to a VP slot at Duberstein’s lobbying firm. I’m sure they are all at a restaurant now partying it up. Yuk, yuk. Joke is on us.
