I saw Bozo live at the studio during his hey day in the 60s on WGN. Was a different and more friendly attitude towards clowns back then, which changed forever when John Wayne Gary terrorized the Chicago area in the 70s/80s

It’s interesting that the TV Bozo was a “franchise” - that is, each market had it’s own local guy plating Bozo. Usually some announcer, weekend weather guy or the like.

Same with “Romper Room”, each market has it’s own “Miss” Whoever as the teacher.

Kid’s show were great back in the day!
