Reports of “killer clowns” have emerged in three new states, as Virginia, Florida and Colorado struggle with Internet rumors and reported sightings that have left several towns shaken.
Residents and authorities in Palm Bay, Fla., have been on high alert since a resident reported seeing two “creepy clowns” staring at her from across a road as she walked her dog. And in Marion County, Fla., deputies are concerned after it emerged that a Facebook viral video, depicting a clown standing silently on the side of the road in the dark, had been filmed along a main thoroughfare in the area.
The video has more than a million views on Facebook.
In Henrico County, Va., a mother and daughter captured a “creepy clown” leering at them from another car during rush hour.

The local sheriff should call a press conference and demand that the locals in the woods who are hunting down these clowns with guns, axe handles and sledge hammers should stop immediately and go home.

BTW, Steven King’s “It” didn’t start general clownphobia in the 80’s. I’d wager it was John Wayne Gacy’s face in the 70’s (those vacant eyes, under happy clown makeup) on the nightly news.

The Bozo that I remember as a kid in Chicago was a racist creep, with his two sidekicks Sandy and Oliver always the butt of his pranks and forced to clean up after him, speaking with an obvious negro accent. Of course, I thought it was all hilariously funny back then, but looking back as an adult, it really wasn’t.
Well, I’m assuming that was quite awhile back. People weren’t as sensitive or as easily offended as they are now. It really wouldn’t have bothered me anymore than the cartoon animals getting all violent on one another.
I’m far from being politically correct. I think the crows in Dumbo were heroes, and Huckleberry Finn is one of the great works of literature, rivaled only by Falada’s Alone in Berlin. But looking back at the cheap stunts that Bozo put Sandy and Oliver through in the 1960s, I’ll bet when they were finally cut from the show they joined the BLA(;-).
