In Genesis 1:26, God gave mankind the right to rule over animals. Furthermore, if God wouldn’t have wanted us to eat animals, He wouldn’t have made them taste so good.

Not to be picky in anyway, God’s word as translated to English is dominion over specifically fish, and fowl, cattle, creeping things, and over all the earth.

And since the beginning of time there is a battle between the forces of good and evil, over just what rule or dominion means. In this case certain politicians think God is speaking through them on the issue of rule or dominion over HIS creation given to man.

I saw it similarly as...

If God hadn't meant for man to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat.
