Most the #nevertrumper legion of the establishment HATED Cruz, fought him in the Senate, besmearched him, ran directly against his filibusters to bring unconstitutional acts into the public view.

His supporters were not (in large part) never Trump.

Mine is different
I know quite a few #nevertrumpers that are HARDCORE Cruz backers due to their hatred of Trump and support of Cruz'z conservative stance. His supporting of Trump threw them for a loop, this solidifies that support and has won a few of them over to voting for Trump.
