And then right below the stuipid asses comments is the chart for the CBS Poll saying that 71% of people think Trump won.

But just like in the primaries, these online polls don’t mean anything and Trump isn’t serious, just doing this for publicity, etc blah blah.

If the career politician former US Senator former SecState and wife of former POTUS can’t pull more votes in an online poll, actual polls, or from polling analysts - then what does that tell us?

But he may be right, some people always tell pollsters they haven’t made their mind up and tonight wouldn’t have convinced many of those folks. If they are still considering voting for Hillary, maybe nothing will.

TRUMP will prevail. HILLARY can only receive so many BOTOX injections to mask her medical symptoms. The clock is running out on her.

Actually Pence came on and gave a brilliant response to CBS commentators after the debate. So much so that they seemed to keep his time short after they heard his remmarks.

Well done Pence!

I noticed that and said it to my girlfriend. Some of the times Trump seemed to dodge but his answers were really going directly to the people, letting them know he understood their concerns, while she droned on about numbers.

Her likeability took a hit

Those jabs Hillary took at Trump with all of the out-of-context things she accused Trump of saying and the way he treats women didn't sit well. IMHO, she did it at that time so he couldn't respond.

I hope that backfires. For me anyway, I have an even lower opinion of her (and who would've thought that's possible?)

One HUGE omission by Trump....he shouldn't just be asking for the emails, what about her high-paid private speeches to banks?

People who will vote for Hillary already made up their minds long ago.

Any undecideds and Independents will break big for Trump.

Hillary as the challenger, needed to change the dynamics of the race.

She failed and this was her best shot to turn it around.

Most online debate polls even on lefty sites show a powerful support for Trump well ahead of Hillary. Even ABC News polls has Hillary in 4th place over the candidates who didn’t participate. Ha, Ha. That’s great.

The public is fed up with her.

>>Thanks for your post. Your take plus the headline from Drudge is the “take away.” I’m in Ukraine and didn’t watch it but am relying on the reactions. Your has been the most helpful.

There was also one of the many tweets on Breitbart where a liberal was complaining that Holt’s interjection and bias backfired and hurt Clinton.

If Boob Schieffer admits Hillary didn’t win, she lost by a mile.

Hilarious!

Libs were all over Matt Lauer for not taking Trump out.

Now libs are gonna be all over Lester Holt for being too partisan.

Holt may have done Hillary more harm than good by repeatedly intervening for her and asking tough questions only of Trump.

Hillary needed to win.

Bottom line is she needed to stop Trump’s rise in the polls.

She blew it. Hillary is done.

The biggest miss for Trump was when she was responding to his ‘stamina’ remark. She gave examples of her stamina and one of them was that she testified in a hearing for 11 hours. Trump should have said ‘you were testifying for 11 house because your incompetence cost 4 lives and lost an embassy for the first time in 60 years!’

Missed opportunity! But Trump was still great.

As I said on the live thread, she was talking to the wonks and Trump was talking to the working man. People who live in real America (outside the DC beltway and urban centers) know that Trump is right, 100 percent. They could care less about a website with 100,000 plus words of policy. They can’t begin to keep track of the millions, billions, and percents she throws around all the time. But if she says “crime is at it’s lowest point in years” or “the we’ve had a record trend in job growth” - they will holler “That’s BULLS#IT!”

The reason the country is divided is because some people deny reality. Trump gets it and talks to the common man, not to debate moderators, pundits, or some FReepers for that matter who are disappointed that he didn’t act the way a Harvard laywer life-long politician would have. But that’s why we in Realville love and support him!

I think Trump’s most devastating response to Hillary was and I’m paraphrasing - go check it out on your website.

She can’t give ordinary people a straight answer. That is quite telling.

No wonder Trump crushed her in almost all post-debate online polls.

From social media feeds I’m looking at, it seems the supporters of both candidates don’t feel they did as well as they believe they should have. Schieffer may actually have the right idea to a certain extent. Trump missed opportunities, but he didn’t collapse, either - he held his own. Hillary was so satisfied with herself in putting him on the defensive that she came across as a snob and probably cancelled that out. Some of Holt’s questions were quite frankly absurd.

And, regarding the stamina thing, would have been a good question for Hillary, as to how sitting on her butt answering questions is some great taxing feat of strength.......This was her example of her great energy and stamina, that she can sit in a room for x number of hours???? Really????

Obviously.

Most on FR had unrealistic expectations due to the history of the Clinton's that has been commented on for over 2 decades.

The bulk of Americans do not follow politics like those on FR, and do not have the information that has been relentlessly posted here for over 2 decades. Neither, obviously, do they care.

The important thing is, Mr. Trump did not come off as unhinged nor bellicose, and he was not “mean” or “arrogant”, nor did he present himself as a megalomaniac or misogynist as the left has portrayed him. That, in and of itself, is a plus for him in this encounter, IMO.

Mr. Trump simply needed not to lose, and especially lose “ugly”. This is not a good thing for Clinton as she needed an outright win to turn the tide.

I don't believe that happened, and I doubt that Americans will see her in a more positive light just as I don't believe that they'll see Mr. Trump in a more negative light.

Just my opinion.

I agree.

Most Americans are not ideological. They don’t give much thought to politics.

To the extent they do think about it, they want to be left alone to live their lives.

And Trump fits that desire better than Hillary, who wants to micromanage the Little People’s daily affairs.

Which goes to the heart of why Trump will be our next President.
