NBC News’ Lester Holt had his “Candy Crowley” moment at the first debate of the 2016 presidential election on Monday night, bowing to pressure from the Hillary Clinton campaign and the liberal media by “fact-checking” Republican nominee Donald Trump on the question of his support for the Iraq War.

It was a waste to ask about the birther issue. First of all, a lot of Americans believed in the issue. Secondly, like the article says, Holt didn’t mention the Clintons circulating the photos of Obama in Muslim garb or their involvement in the birther issue.
He didnt want to get Matt Lauered.

I also expected Holt to be much more biased to Hillary than he was, but Holt was definitely on Team Hillary and it was Trump Vs Hillary and Holt teaming up on Trump.
Holt would have liked to have done more to support Hillary, but he pushed as hard as could while avoiding a viewer backlash against Hillary and himself.
I think Hillary did have an ear piece in and was getting help and coaching .
Hillary had a collection of pre programmed, rote answers she spewed, but she could not think on her feet and Trump could.
Overall, this was a unusual debate where both sides laid out their positions and who won depends on how they actually feel about the issues.
The most inexplicable thing is Donald's defense of his not supporting the Iraq, which is irrelevant.
George Bush won the the war in Iraq and Hillary and Obama lost the peace in Iraq
What Donald should focus on is that the fact that regardless of how you felt about the Iraq war before it started, George Bush had the Iraq war effectively won and handed over a peaceful Iraq to Obama and Clinton wit ha brighter future.
Obama withdrew from Iraq on the pretext that he and his Sec of State Hillary Clinton were unable to successfully negotiate a status of forces agreement with the Iraqi government.
Our withdrawal from Iraq was a total disaster and Hillary Clinton's failure to negotiating a status of forces agreement was a major diplomatic failure with disastrous consequences for the region and the entire world .

Candy Holt tried to debate Trump. Trump mostly ignored him, and finished whatever he was saying while he was being interrupted.
Trump answered that one effectively.
Did anyone hear Holt say “Quickly” when Hillary was responding to something. He said it to Trump.
Holt was Hillary’s lapdog to say the least. If he had a sense of real dignity he’d be embarrassed to have debased himself so completely.
