“..Cruz is one of the most level-headed, rational people in politics.

Yes and KOOKS that say otherwise fail to remember his stand against Obumacare, and how he is fighting to stop the Internet giveaway.

Good point Cruz did hold the line/argue on the senate floor for a lot of conservative points when no one else was. He did fight the good verbal fight, so to speak. I grant you that and cheer him for it.

But beyond that, well...... The fact is in all of his verbal wit he never actually took a stance which accomplished anything. It was all words and no action. What piece of leftist legislation did he ever defeat and what piece of good conservative legislation did he manage to get enacted?

If you are going to say defeat of the immigration reform, well that is an example of him speaking out of both sides od his mouth. At the time he said he wanted it to pass, albeit with his added legislation that would have prevented illegal immigrants form becoming citizens. A very dubious amendment, one likely to be struck down the supreme court based on past decisions. But he was unable to get that through. The senate passed a really awful bill, that was defeated in the house. He was ineffective, no matter what his intent, to amend, pass or defeat the bill in the senate. At best he had good intentions at the time.

In fact the defeat of the immigration bill occurred because of the primary defeat of Cantor. Now that the history of that era has been put down, that is what the sequence of events show. Yet Cruz attempted to claim the defeat as his own. Mr. principle has an issue with truth, that is what bothers a lot of folks.
