Trump as president is a “calamity?” I suppose to statist a he is. For the rest of us he’s our last hope.
The most exciting thing going on in America today is the alt-right movement. I don’t know that much about it yet. But if it pisses off liberals, there has to be something good about it.
What a bunch of smarmy elitists. Brexit came and went. And the market is now where it was before the vote. The brief reaction after the vote was from the press and the parade of elites including bankers and Obama who tried to scare the people out of voting for Brexit.
The same will happen if Trump wins the debates and then the election. The market will have a brief tantrum. But then it will recover. Nothing will really change after the vote with regard to the stock market. But there will be a mini crash just the same, because elites believe their own crap.

The globalist internationalists have a terrible problem: they equate having power as being the solution to all problems, because they are such superior elites. This defies both reason and objectivity.
The socialists are the worst, because what was once their philosophy has become little more than a religion. Because it fails in all things, no matter how many times it is tried, they are caught in a spiral of failure.
It is ironic that they are amazingly adept at subverting existing institutions to their cause, the same with scheming and gradualism to achieve their ends. But their ends are still crap. Awful, worthless, dehumanizing crap.
Globalism is a fantasy which lasts until you actually meet the rest of the “citizens of the world”. There is no way a sane person would ever allow such individuals to have power over them. You might as well join a pack of feral dogs.
It is the conservative alternative to social justice warriors, but 5-10 years later.

Just a decade or two ago ago many folks we’re thinking all the globalist talk was the realm of conspiracy crackpots. The majority now understand it’s very real. It’s why they hand off things like the control of Internet to foreigners in other lands. Or make trade deals that make our enemies applaud. Or create compassionate wars lasting decades costing trillions. That alone should be enough to make folks stand up and say, WT~

So this guy is a European mainstream media member for a globalist financial paper. In general, they are horrified at the prospect of a Trump over there, as too many gravy trains might end. I read the weekend FT on the plane back from Amsterdam yesterday, and this shines through in side comments in a few of the articles.
One example was that they believe Trump might not honor NATO commitments. There is not a hint of understanding that they are not honoring theirs by not having militaries worthy of the name to contribute to the NATO cause if the rubber ever meets the road. No, they just want us to nuke the Russians if things ever get serious, I suppose. But Trump is somehow prima facie evil for pointing this out in a way that cannot be ignored.
Wolfgang Münchau and the rest of the Leftist media globalists at FT can go take a long walk off a short pier.
Conservatives need to learn that there are two groups that advocate for globalism.
The obvious one are the socialists, members of the Socialist International, an organization of leftist political parties from around the world.

They see as their primary objective the ending of nations as such, which they see as “contrivances” that just promote war. For this reason, they continually push for open borders, unlimited immigration (on condition that the immigrants agree to back the socialists), and the destruction of heterogeneous peoples, cultures, languages, histories, and non-socialist forms of government, excepting dictatorships and tyrannies. Eventually they want nations to become one-party socialist districts in large socialist economic blocs. All ruled by giant, unelected, faceless bureaucracies, and led by hereditary elites, the socialist leaders and their families.
The other group “hide in plain sight” but are equally repulsive. They are the corporatist multinationalists.
They see socialists of all stripes as imbeciles, and dream of a corporatocracy to rule the world. With, of course, the corporate leaders and *their* families being the ruling elite over gigantic, unelected, faceless bureaucracies. But as much as they detest socialists, they do embrace some of the socialist ideas, like universal health care and retirement, with the idea of forcing the people to pay for their own upkeep, so the corporations do not have to.
In short, the 1975 movie Rollerball, is precisely what they want to achieve with globalism. Their credo is that “what is good for business is good for all.”
Yeah, to Hell with them, too.
In the US, the Democrats are the socialist party. The Socialist Party of America announced in their October 2009 newsletter that 70 Congressional democrats currently belonged to their caucus. (Though this outing cost many of them their jobs.)
The corporatist multinationalists were the leadership of the Republican party. This is why for so many years they found common cause with the Democrats, even if that meant just not resisting their socialist schemes.
Only with the rise of the Tea Party did they really get unmasked, and a gradual purge of the leadership began, which continues today. The popularity of Donald Trump has a strong core of people who see what the Democrats and the Republican leadership have and continued to offer, and are desperate to stop it.
And this core is so potent that even when the two devils throw hundreds of millions of dollars against it, their own and even taxpayer money, it achieves nothing. Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush failed spectacularly. It is not just their ideas that are being rejected, but themselves and their families as well.
