Read the article, people. This is a travesty. The commission won’t even say whether they allow or forbid them or how they would police it. I agree this is worse than doping at the Olympics.

I had to laugh, a microphone is not even needed for a job like this. Microphones are for capturing sound, as in newsrooms, and athletic announcers. Ear buds are for playing sound. Ergo, why would anyone wear an ear mic(rophone)?

A speaker and a microphone are the same thing; an electromagnetic transducer. It’s like the two paper cups at each end of a string. The cups can be both a microphone and a speaker.

It would be easy to convert one to the other.

There are ear receivers available expensively that are small enough to fit invisibly deep into the ear. Mrs Bill will have one of those regardless of rules. They are not detectable with cursory visual inspection.
