For some Democrats, it's voting for Clinton - and keeping it quiet

One would expect voters from the heavily Democratic Brooklyn neighborhood of Cobble Hill to pick presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 general election. Just don't expect them to advertise it.

Like lawns and windowsills in liberal pockets across the country, much of the neighborhood is bereft of pro-Clinton signage in the final weeks before the election. It's a stark contrast to the 2012 and 2008 campaigns, when President Barack Obama whipped up a frenzy of support from Democrats and his signature "Hope" and "Forward" signs were ubiquitous.

The scarcity of lawn and window signs is an indication of the Democratic nominee's struggle to generate enthusiasm among left-leaning voters, a challenge that's borne out in polling data, and could potentially haunt her if voters fail to turn out on election day.

Clinton leads Republican challenger Donald Trump by four percentage points among likely voters, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released Friday.

But Americans of all political stripes have been more critical of Clinton than they were of Obama when he was running for his second term four years ago, according to the daily tracking poll

How can you get excited about "I'm with her?"

About as exciting as a comrade voting for Brezhnev.

Leftie rooters is trying to say that Hillary has a secret underground army of voters.

Well, she does, but they’re REALLY underground. As in “on death certificates.” If the ‘rats had to rely on honest polls, they’d lose elections left and right.

What is their motivation to keep quiet about it? More likely they will vote for Trump, a third party candidate, or don’t vote at all, and lie that they voted for Hillary.

Driving through the most heavily leftist area of metro Atlanta, I have seen exactly TWO yard signs for Hillary. Some Bernie signs are still up, and Bernie stickers on cars are everywhere.

Not sure what Ipsos/Reuters poll was released Friday; it could be an error in reporting.

09.20.2016 shows Trump leading by 2 in Likely Voters in a 4 way

It was said that Bill Clinton got the nod from the average working guy because he proved he was one of them and he made life's sinful indiscretions OK. A little playing around on the side, some strange young stuff in the office - no big deal.

Then came Obama to openly admit using marijuana and cocaine and selling it (mostly to people he knew) in order to pay for the good stuff he sought after. He made using and small time dealing OK.

Now come the new liberal democrats and Hillary Clinton making felony criminal activity something young people eyeing politics can not only aspire to, but anticipate getting by with as long as they know the right people, accumulate enough power and garner media support along the way.

"Like lawns and windowsills in liberal pockets across the country, much of the neighborhood is bereft of pro-Clinton signage in the final weeks before the election."

Democrats just aren't that into her, Amy.

The lack of Clinton signage should also tell you that many of those Brooklynites are part of the lurking Monster Vote for Trump.

“What is their motivation to keep quiet about it?”

There is none. Liberals have nothing to fear from ‘deplorable’ Republican voters. Its not like we’re going to egg their houses, or key their cars, if they show their support for Clinton.

The real story is that Democrat voters are demoralized beyond belief. They know they got stuck with the weakest candidate on their bench, and that the rest of the country is sick and tired of Obama.

They’re going to lose this round and they know it.
