Love this guy but he’s wrong here. This is Iwo Jima and the goal should be to exterminate every single ISIS member... don’t stop until there are only 5 or 6 left hiding in caves. Others in the world need to see this as an object lesson.

At the end of World War 2, there were still millions of Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe, and Imperial Japanese troops around. Many fully armed. However, we convinced them to surrender.

"War is the continuation of politics by other means.” - Clausewitz
For example, Harry Reid proclaiming, “This war is lost.” That was politics with the obvious implication of causing the war to be lost. I was frustrated when Reid’s opponent did not dramatize that by challenging Reid to say of his own re-election, “This campaign is lost.”

Obviously Reid would have submitted to a lashing before saying that publicly.
