If DT left kill shots on the table, here’s my two cents on why he did:
1. He knows he’s winning and didn’t need to go completely nuclear.
2. He used this first debate to “feel out” things.
He was solid, if unspectacular. She was shrill and tired.
Bottom line: He went into this debate winning this election, he came out of it winning this election.
Very Well Said GOPster.
We can only look to Four Years ago with Mittens and Ubama for that pattern.
Where they were at in the polls and what happened after.
Good analysis.
Trump didn’t come across looking unhinged or crazy.
People can picture him sitting in the Oval Office.
As the front-runner, he could afford to be gracious and concede on points.
He looked presidential and in the end, that’s all that really matters.
When she mentioned that “Miss Piggy” nonsense he should have mentioned Juanita Brodderick, it would have been the first time a lot of people watching will have heard that name.
“Bottom line: He went into this debate winning this election, he came out of it winning this election.”
All I took away from it as well.
I don’t think it went particularly well. Trump had his moments and the remark about her e-mails scored. But he was on the defensive too much and tried to get in too many points in too little time. Clinton was poised and polished, if smug.
This isn’t a game-changer, I’m glad to say. The Vice Presidential debate will be important, I hope Governor Pence hits it out of the park.
